PRESCHOOL
October 13th
This month we want to make sure that our preschoolers know that wherever they go, they can look to God with a trusting heart and know God is always with me. This week they see this when they learn about Hagar and Ishmael who had no home, food, and now water. God heard Hagar and Ismael because God was always with them.
Lead Their Growth: While on the go, look for water. Talk about how, in the Bible, Hagar and Ishmael were in a hot desert, and they did not see water anywhere. God heard Ishmael crying and helped Hagar see water, because God was always with them. And God is always with us too!
ELEMENTARY
October W2: God will always be victorious!
Bible Story: 1 Samuel 17 (King Saul and the nation of Israel overcome a giant challenge when they face the mighty Philistines and their powerful champion, Goliath. But God brings a miraculous victory through a young shepherd boy named David.)
Main Point: God will always be victorious!
Key Verse: “Here is what I am commanding you to do. Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope. I am the Lord your God. I will be with you everywhere you go.” —Joshua 1:9
Lead their Growth: Ask, “When do you want to remember that God will always be victorious?” Remind your child that sometimes things are still hard, but we know that God will always win in the end, and that one day we’ll get to be with God forever in a perfect world. When you pray with your child this week, try adding something like, “God, thank you that you will always be victorious. Help us to have faith and hope in you.”
