This month preschoolers are learning that I can hear from God, pray to God, talk to others about God and live for God. This week they see this when they learn about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. These men chose to live for God, even when it meant going into a fiery furnace. But God was with them and saved them.

Lead Their Growth: Cuddle with your child and pray: “God, sometimes it’s hard to not do what everyone else is doing. But even when it’s hard, [child’s name] and I want to
live for You like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did. Please give us the courage to always love You the way You always love us.”

May W4: God hears our prayers!

Bible Story:  James 5, 1 Thessalonians 5 (As the apostles James and Paul encourage us, we are to pray continually with great faith, believing that God hears and answers our prayers.)

Main Point: God hears our prayers! 

Monthly Verse: “But God has surely listened. He has heard my prayer. Give praise to God. He has accepted my prayer. He has not held back his love from me.” —Psalm 66:19–20 

Lead their Growth: Ask, “What are you praying for?” Consider writing down your prayers on post-it notes and placing them somewhere around your house. When God answers a prayer, you can write how He answered the prayer on the back of the post-it note and place them in a journal or a jar to be able to look back on.
