This month, we want our preschoolers to know that they have the Lord our God to help them. God helps them do big things. This week they see this when they learn about a prophet named Deborah who led God’s people, gave them messages from God and helped them settle their arguments. Deborah was able to help a lot of people because she knew that God helps her do big things.

Lead Their Growth: While on the go, take turns saying this sentence: “One time, I helped [person’s name] by [how you helped them].” Talk about how God helped a woman named Deborah help a lot of people.

The Holy Spirit helps us pray!

Bible Story: Romans 8 (Paul encourages Roman followers of Jesus by teaching them that the Holy Spirit leads and helps God’s children pray.)

Main Point: The Holy Spirit helps us pray!

Key Verse:  “Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.” —Romans 8:14

Lead their Growth: Ask, “What are you praying for? How can the Holy Spirit help you?” If your child was in LCKids this Sunday, they made a reusable dry erase prayer board, which you can continue to use as a family to keep track of prayers, answered prayers, and other reminders of God’s goodness. You could also make your own prayer board as a family!
