June 22nd 

This month, we are going to discover how to love others like Jesus. No matter how young or old you are, we all need Jesus to show us how to love others. This week preschoolers will see this when they learn about how Paul loved others by encouraging them to keep doing everything Jesus taught them. Paul wrote them letters and traveled long distances to encourage others the way Jesus encouraged him.

Lead Their Growth: Cuddle with your child and pray: “Dear God, You encourage [child’s name] and me by giving us Jesus to be our friend forever. I pray [child’s name] and I will encourage our friends by clapping and cheering for them and telling them that they can love like Jesus too.”

Love comes from God!

Bible Story:  1 John 4 (John explains that God’s love changes us, and it changes how we relate to others. God is loving, and through His Spirit, we can be loving too.)

Main Point: Love comes from God!

Key Verse:  Jesus replied, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind.’ This is the first and most important commandment.” —Matthew 22:37–38

Lead their Growth: Ask,  “What’s special about God’s love?” Consider reading 1 John 4: 7-12 as a family this week.
