July 7th

This month we’re celebrating Jesus because Jesus gives me joy! It’s the kind of joy that we can have no matter what. It is a joy that lasts forever! This week they see this when they learn about how the angels told the shepherds that Jesus was coming. When Jesus was born, joy had come to the world just like the angels said.

Lead Their Growth: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: “Good morning, [child’s name]! I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people! Jesus wants to be your friend forever!”

Bible Story:  Proverbs 1

Main Point: Wisdom comes from God!

Monthly Verse: “Take hold of my words with all your heart. Keep my commands, and you will live. Get wisdom, and get understanding. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.” —Proverbs 4:4b–5

Key Question: Ask, “What is wisdom?” Remind kids that wisdom is knowledge and understanding that come from God!
