PRESCHOOL

January 14th

This month preschoolers are learning that Jesus teaches me important things. This week they see this when they learn about how God cares for the birds and flowers. Jesus teaches us that we don’t need to worry about our food and clothes because God cares even more about us than the birds and flowers.

Lead Their Growth: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: “Good morning, [child’s name]! Let’s go look out of the window and see if we see any birds or flowers. (Look together.) Jesus teaches us that God cares for the birds and flowers, and God cares even more for people!”

ELEMENTARY

Bible Story: Matthew 5- Sermon on the Mount cont.

Main Point: Jesus teaches us to be salt and light!

Monthly Verse: Blessed are those whose hearts are pure. They will see God. —Matthew 5:8 (NIrV)

Lead their growth: Ask your kids, “What does it mean to be salt and light?” Brainstorm ways your kids can share God’s love during their week. As a bonus, consider having your kids try unsalted popcorn and then add on some salt and butter as a demonstration of how the world (and popcorn!) is so much better when we share our “saltiness”!
