December  17th

This month preschoolers are learning that we know God loves us because He gave us Jesus. This week they see this when they learn about the shepherds that followed a bright star all the way to Jesus. The shepherds didn’t hesitate to go and tell everyone the good news that God gave us His Son Jesus.

Lead Their Growth: Cuddle with your child and pray: “God, thank You for giving Jesus to every person in the whole, wide world! Help us get excited about Jesus so we can go and tell everyone, everywhere that You love them and You gave them Your Son, Jesus!”

Bible Story: Matthew 6, and Angel visits Joseph to say that Mary’s baby will be named Jesus, since he will save his people  

Main Point: God sent Jesus to save us! 

Monthly Verse: “The Lord Himself will give you a sign. The virgin is going to have a baby. She will give birth to a Son. And he will be called Immanuel.” -Isaiah 7:14 (NIrV) 

*If kids ask about the meaning of the word “virgin,” you can explain that a virgin is

 someone who would not normally be able to have a baby. You can also explain

you can’t get further into it at the moment, but that kids can always ask their

 parents more about it. 

Lead their Growth:  Ask your child, “What does it mean to you that God sent Jesus to save us?” Consider making treats for your neighbors with cards that say “God sent Jesus to save us!”
