PRESCHOOL

April 27th

This month, we are talking to our preschoolers about days that are happy because Jesus is alive.  This week they see this when they learn about how Jesus had died and come back to life. He came to see His disciples and cook them breakfast after He came back to life. The disciples were so happy to sit around the fire eating and talking with Jesus and so happy to see that He was alive.

Lead Their Growth: Add toy food items to bath time. Encourage your child to pretend to make breakfast. Say: “After Jesus went away and came back, Jesus made breakfast for His friends, the disciples. The disciples were so happy to see Jesus again! It was such a happy day!”

Jesus surprises us!

Bible Story: Luke 24 (After His death on the cross, Jesus appears to two of His followers as they are walking on the road to Emmaus. At first they don’t recognize Him, but Jesus opens their eyes to the surprising truth that He is alive.)

Main Point: Jesus surprises us!

Key Verse:  “I will spend time thinking about everything you have done. I will consider all your mighty acts.” —Psalm 77:12

Lead their Growth: Ask, “When has Jesus surprised you?” Consider finding a fun way to surprise your kids this week (maybe it’s a surprise treat after school, breakfast for dinner, a tickle attack, etc!) and remind them that God loves to surprise us with His goodness! Even when God doesn’t do what we expect, Jesus’ death and resurrection remind us God is better than we could ever imagine.
