April 21st

This month preschoolers are learning that I can do what Jesus says. This week they see this when they learn about the early church. The early church prayed together and learned about Jesus together. They loved like Jesus by sharing all that they had with each other.  

Lead Their Growth: During bath time, sing the following words to the tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”: “Love, love, love my friends. I can love my friends. I can do what Jesus says and love people like Him.”

April W3: The Holy Spirit gives us power!

Bible Story: Acts 13 (The Holy Spirit sends Paul and Barnabas to tell others about Jesus. When Elymas tries to stop them, the Holy Spirit gives Paul and Barnabas power to carry out their mission.) 

Main Point: The Holy Spirit gives us power!  

Monthly Verse:  “Don’t live the way this world lives. Let your way of thinking be completely changed. Then you will be able to test what God wants for you. And you will agree that what he wants is right. His plan is good and pleasing and perfect.” – Romans 12:2 (NIrV) 

Lead their growth: Ask, “What can the Holy Spirit give you the power to do?” Remind kids that the Holy Spirit doesn’t give us the power to do everything we want— the Holy Spirit gives us the power to do what God wants. One thing we know God wants is for us to share His love! Consider brainstorming ways you want to share God’s love as a family this week.
