January 12th

This month, we are teaching our preschoolers about the best friend—the One who is always a good friend. This week they see this when they learn about how Jesus healed ten men. One man excitedly came back to thank Jesus. Jesus was a good friend when the man needed help and was excited because Jesus is always a good friend.

Lead Their Growth: While on the go, talk about things that make you feel excited—like Christmas morning excited! Then talk about how excited the man was when Jesus made all of the boo-boos on his skin go away. The man was so excited he shouted praises to God and ran back to tell Jesus thank you!

Jesus is God’s Son!

Bible Story: Mark 1, Matthew 3 (John the Baptist prepares the way for Jesus by encouraging people to repent and be baptized. At Jesus’ baptism, God reveals that Jesus is His own Son.)

Main Point: Jesus is God’s Son!

Key Verse: “The Son is the exact likeness of God, who can’t be seen. The Son is first, and he is over all creation.” —Colossians 1:15

Lead their Growth: Ask, “How is Jesus different from anyone who ever lived?” Reread the story in Mark 1 or Matthew 3 and highlight God’s words about who Jesus is.
