January 26th

This month, we are teaching our preschoolers about the best friend—the One who is always a good friend. This week they see this when they learn about Zacchaeus and how he was so happy to see Jesus that he climbed a tree to see Jesus. Jesus told Zacchaeus that He was going to stay at his house. Zacchaeus was so happy that Jesus is such a good friend! 

Lead Their Growth: Encourage your child to use bath crayons to draw happy faces on the tub. Talk about how happy Zacchaeus was when Jesus told him He was going to Zacchaeus’ house!

Bible Story: John 2 (Jesus turns water into wine at a wedding!)

Main Point: Jesus reveals that He is amazing!

Key Verse: “The Son is the exact likeness of God, who can’t be seen. The Son is first, and he is over all creation.” —Colossians 1:15

Lead their Growth: Ask,  “How has Jesus revealed that He is amazing in your life?” Consider taking your child to get their favorite drink and re-reading John 2 or re-telling the story of Jesus turning water into wine! You can “cheers” and say something like, “Isn’t it amazing that Jesus performed a miracle so the party could keep going? God is so fun and amazing, and God has made so many good things for us to enjoy!”
