PRESCHOOL

April 28th

This month preschoolers are learning that I can do what Jesus says. This week they see this when they learn about how Jesus calls us to be kind and loving. When we do, we can let our light shine like Jesus so that others can learn about how much He loves us.

Lead Their Growth: While on the go at night, look for stars in the sky. Are the clouds hiding the stars or are the stars shining bright in the dark, clear sky? Talk about how when we argue and complain, we hide our light, like the clouds hide the stars. But when we do what Jesus says, we shine bright, like stars in a dark, clear sky!

ELEMENTARY

April W4: The Holy Spirit gives us courage!

Bible Story: Acts 27-28 (Paul—who was eager to share the good news of Jesus with the Roman emperor, Caesar—was imprisoned and taken onto a ship sailing toward Rome. Miraculously, all passengers survive a catastrophic shipwreck. The Holy Spirit gives Paul courage in a scary situation!)

Main Point: The Holy Spirit gives us courage!

Monthly Verse:  “Don’t live the way this world lives. Let your way of thinking be completely changed. Then you will be able to test what God wants for you. And you will agree that what he wants is right. His plan is good and pleasing and perfect.” – Romans 12:2 (NIrV)

Lead their growth: Ask, “When do you need to ask the Holy Spirit for courage?” Pray with your child and ask God to show them how He is with them during difficult situations.
