PRESCHOOL

July 20th

This month, we want our preschoolers to learn that “I can do what Jesus says” because He gave us very clear instructions on what to do, and then gave us the gift of His Holy Spirit to guide us and help us do it. This week the preschoolers will see this when Jesus tells the story of the good Samaritan. Through this story Jesus was saying that our neighbor is anyone who needs us to care for them. All that matters is that God loves them, which means we are to love them too.

Lead Their Growth: Cuddle with your child and pray: “Dear God, we have been talking about the story Jesus told about the Good Samaritan. Please help [child’s name] and me be kind and loving, like the Samaritan man, and stop to care for people when they need help.”

God is worthy of worship!

Bible Story: Psalm 145 (King David exalts God, the one true King of eternity and the only one who is worthy of being praised throughout all generations forever and ever.)

Main Point: God is worthy of worship!

Key Verse:  “Worship the LORD with gladness. Come to him with songs of joy.” —Psalm 100:2

Lead their Growth: Ask, “Why is God worthy of your worship?” Consider reading parts of Psalm 145 as a family this week, pausing after a couple verses to discuss what reasons the Psalm gives for why God is worthy of worship.
