January 5th

This month, we are teaching our preschoolers about the best friend—the One who is always a good friend. This week they see this when they learn about how Peter walked on water to see Jesus and then a storm came he was very afraid. Jesus pulled Peter back into the boat and was a good friend when Peter was afraid because Jesus is always a good friend.

Lead Their Growth: Cuddle with your child and pray: “Dear God, thank You that Jesus is always a good friend and that we can talk to Him whenever we feel afraid.”

Jesus shows us what God is like!

Bible Story: Luke 2- After visiting Jerusalem for the Passover Feast, 12-year-old Jesus stays behind at the temple while His family travels home. He talks with the Jewish teachers and amazes many with His insights.

Main Point: Jesus Shows Us What God Is Like

Key Verse: “The Son is the exact likeness of God, who can’t be seen. The Son is first, and he is over all creation.” —Colossians 1:15

Lead their Growth: Ask, “What does Jesus show us about what God is like?” Challenge yourselves to think of as many words as possible that describe what God is like!
