May 11th

This month, we want our preschoolers to know that they have the Lord our God to help them. God helps them do big things. This week they see this when they learn about how Moses needed help supporting God’s people in battle. God gave him Aaron and Hur to help him do big things.

Lead Their Growth: Add toy food items, a bowl, mixing spoons, cups—all the cooking things—to bath time. As you pretend to cook together, talk about how God gives us people to help us, like God gave Moses his brother Aaron and friend Hur to help him.

The Holy Spirit is powerful!

Bible Story: Acts 16 (After Paul and Silas are thrown in prison, an earthquake shakes the prison, opening the doors and loosening chains. Amazed by God’s power, the jailer and his household believe in Jesus and are saved!)

Main Point: The Holy Spirit is powerful!

Key Verse:  “Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.” —Romans 8:14

Lead their Growth: Ask, “What can the Holy Spirit give you the power to do?” Consider re-reading Acts 16 as a family and seeing if your child can name the many different ways we see the Holy Spirit’s power just in that one chapter.
