This month, we’re talking to the preschoolers about how Jesus is the light that God sent into the world to shine bright for all the world to see. This week they see this when they learn about how Phillip helped a man understand God’s word.

Lead Their Growth: Add glow sticks to bath time and dim the lights. As your child plays with the glow sticks, talk about how we are like a light that glows when we love people the way Jesus loves us.

September W4: God answers prayers!

Bible Story:  1 Samuel 1 (​​After years of praying, Hannah is still childless. Though sad, she continues to pray in the tabernacle where she encounters Eli the priest. God answers her prayers, and Hannah gives birth to Samuel, whom she returns to the Lord.)

Main Point: God’s answers prayers!

Key Verse: “God is able to do far more than we could ever ask for or imagine. He does everything by his power that is working in us.” -Ephesians 3:20

Lead their Growth: Ask, “What are you praying for?” If your child was in LCKids this Sunday, they got a grow capsule to put in water and wait until it grows into something fun. Put the grow capsule in water together and remind your child that even when we have to wait like Hannah waited for a child, we can trust that God hears our prayers and that God is always working. Watch and wait for the grow capsule to turn into something fun!
