October 19th

This month, we want our preschoolers to know that the powerful God who is always with us and can help us be brave. Even the most fearful of us can be strong and courageous with God! This week the preschoolers will see this when they learn about Gideon. God sent an angel to Gideon when he was afraid and hiding. But when Gideon knew God was with him, he was able to stop hiding and do some pretty super things.

Lead Their Growth: While on the go, repeat this sentence together. Take turns filling in the blank: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid of [name something]…for the Lord your God goes with you.”

God cares for us!

Bible Story: Exodus 14-16, Numbers 11 (With Pharaoh’s army pursuing, God provides an escape route for His people through the Red Sea. Later in the wilderness, God cares for their needs by providing bread, water, and meat.)

Main Point: God  (point up) cares for us! (hug yourself) 

Key Verse: “LORD and King,” (Place your hands on your head like a crown) you have reached out (Reach out your arm) your great and powerful arm. (Flex your arm)  You have made the heavens (Sweep your arms up and overhead in a circle) and the earth.(Sweep your arms down and in a circle.)  Nothing is too hard (Shake your head no and cross your arms in an ‘X’) for you. (Point up.) —Jeremiah 32:17

Lead their Growth: Ask, “How has God cared for you?” Your child received a “Care Calendar” in LCKids with space to write or draw how God cares for them each day of this week. If you don’t have your “Care Calendar”, you can also easily make your own by creating space for your child to reflect on how God cared for them each day of this week!
