PRESCHOOL
November 2nd
This month, we want our preschoolers to know that there is power in a thankful heart! When a heart focuses on being thankful for everything, it is content and joyful. This week the preschoolers will see this when they learn about Ruth, Naomi and Boaz. Naomi lost her husband and two sons, but Ruth, her daughter in law, stayed with her. Soon God also added Boaz to their family. It wasn’t the family that they thought they would have, but they were so thankful that God brought them together.
Lead Their Growth: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: “Good morning, [child’s name]! Before we get up, let’s thank God for our family. Thank You, God, for [name people in your family].”

God speaks!
Bible Story: 1 Samuel 3 (God calls to young Samuel in an audible voice. Samuel mistakes God’s voice for Eli the priest’s voice. With Eli’s help, Samuel eventually realizes it is God and listens to His message.)
Main Point: God (point up) speaks (bring both hands to your mouth and then move them outward).
Key Verse: “Come near (gesture towards you) to God, and God (point up) will come near (gesture towards you) to you.” (point out) – James 4:8a
Lead their Growth: Ask, “Has God ever spoken to you or someone you know? Tell us about it!” Consider playing a family guessing game surrounding different modes of communication (letters, emails, texts, messenger pigeons, talking, whispering, sign language, etc!) and try to list the different ways God speaks to us as well (through dreams, thoughts, other people, creation, the Bible, etc!)
